WARNING: We have recently been contacted by three of our elderly patients living in the Chellaston area. They have received a call from a company called Active Health, who are currently cold-calling local residents aged between 60-95. The company offer an appointment for a 'free mobility health needs assessment', or a free trial of a heat pad. Unfortunately, when the sales rep attends they do not provide any form of identification.
The company is legitimate, however the practice does not endorse their products or condone their selling methods.
Please be assured that no NHS organisation will ever share your personal details, or any information regarding your medical health record with any other organisation (it is illegal for us to do so). However companies such as Active Health purchase mailing lists from data organisations so that they are able target a local population - as they are currently in Chellaston.
Please always be cautious of who you give information to over the telephone & also always ask for some form of identification if anyone attends your home. Please let me know if any company ever informs you that they are working with your GP practice and/or your local hospital.
