COVID Vaccine

The Practice has signed up to be part of the vaccine programme.  However, the initial rollout will not be at the surgery premises and we have no dates or timeframe as to if it will be carried out at the surgery premises.

The 1st phase of the programme is being given via the hosptials due to the fact that the  vaccine from Pfizer is not able to be moved once defrosted, and needs to be stored at extremely low temperatures (-70c), something that GP Practices are not able to do.  The hospitals are vaccinating any patient over the age of 80 that is due to be discharged, or coming for any outpatient appointments.  Also any care home staff and any of the hospital staff who are vulnerable.

For the 2nd phase we will be joining with the other 5 Primary Care Networks across Derby City to run a vaccine hub from the Derby Arena, adjacent to the Derby County Football Club at Pride Park.  The process of organising this is already under way and we expect this to be ready for the new year, and when more vaccines become available.

We will keep updating this website with any further information.  We kindly ask that you don’t contact the surgery about the COVID vaccine.
